I want to begin today's blog by first thanking Robert, Julie and Jenny for writing and putting together this great 30 day devotional. Each day has been so timely in preparing us for this important mission trip.
After reading today's scriptures as well as the devotional, two words kept popping up in my mind: "God knows." He knows those whom call Him Lord as well as how He can use each one of us in reaching this world with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. All we need to do is surrender!
-- SURRENDER --
to give oneself up, as into the power of another; submit or yield.
Why is it so hard for us to surrender our will for His will in our lives when we know that God wants what's best for us! Romans 8:28 says:
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose.
It is my prayer and desire that each of us allows God to work in and through us in order to reach the world -- reach Scotland -- for Christ! Join me in this prayer right now...
Lord, as we surrender to Your will, please use each of us to reach out to all the students we come in contact with in Glasgow. Amen.
A special thanks to all the students who continue to read their daily devotional, visit the blog and comment on the question of the day.
Our winner for yesterday's Sonic challenge is:
Aaryn Elliott
Congratulations...(oh, a vanilla coke sounds great right now...no, a slushy or a shake....can't decide!)
I apologize to the students who tried to post a comment last night but were unable to do so. Unfortunately, Google had a major computer problem last night and today and this blog site is hosted by them. Thank you for sending your comments to my email account. If it does not work tonight as well, please email me your comment to today's question at: kenm@fbcbentonville.org
TODAY'S SONIC QUESTION OF THE DAY:
Type out one of your favorite scripture verses that speak about trusting God
and tell me why it's so meaningful to you.
Thanks Dave for sharing your thoughts yesterday on the devotional scripture passage. Wow, God is truly amazing and His love and mercy is unimaginable. Students, don't miss what the others are writing every day on the blog....read on, read on!....
Just got an email from Timesia Hart....she couldn't get on the blog comment page last night either....here's what she said about yesterday's devotional:
I am currently taking a micro nutrient class and just thinking about what all our human body needs to function as efficiently as possible I begin to think in terms of my spiritual body, and what I need do allow God to do in order that the spiritual man inside of me would function as God would have it to function. I thought of the "bread of life" spoken of John 6:34. We must eat food as nourishment for our physical bodies, but our spiritual bodies need nourishment that can only come by "real relationship with Jesus", Pastor always say that "it is impossible to have a relationship with someone that you do not spend time with". Today I have recommitted time to developing a stronger relationship with my Savior which involves time in His word, and time on my knees talking to Him. It is that time spent that will bring nourishment to my spiritual man that I will be full of Him fit to serve in whatever capacity He directs me to. There is simplicity in this in that if I eat the right spiritual food I am spiritually fit!!! God may we all desire the spiritual bread that only come from you to be spiritually fit in Jesus Name AMEN!!!!
Have a great evening!
Bless ya,
Ken
Bro.Ken,
Hey ok well, my absolute favorite bible verse is Romans 12;21 not only is it my birthday date (Dec.21) and to me this verse is saying no matter what always happens in life as a Christian you should always try to overcome your temptations by doing the right thing.

wowza! I just accidentally deleted my ENTIRE blog I just wrote!!!!!!!!!!
Well, here it goes again!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to Mrs.Timesia and our devo authors, I have been very blessed by all this! While I was reading today's devo what stuck out to me the most is how extremely easy it is to have a healthy, growing, and miraculous relationship with Christ! I t is only by my sinful human nature and bad habit that I have fallen into this deceitful trap of laziness, bad prioritizing, pride, and self-pity! None of which has anything to do with any one else but MWAH! So THAT means I have got to change for there to BE change! As I was meditating on this God showed me that If I don't have complete and pure faith that Christ can and will make change, then He won't. Faith in Jesus is the center of all things! I must believe with my heart, not my mouth, that every moment IS a divine appointment from God, and before I know it...BAM it is!!!!!
One of my absolute favorite scriptures about trusting God is Philippians4:6-7
''Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.''
!!!IS THAT NOT THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING YOU EVER HEARD??!!!!!
This scripture means so much to me because I am usually a worrisome person and have a hard time being peaceful when I hit roadblocks. The fact that He says..the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds..!! First of all He tells me that no matter what it is, I know exactly how you are feeling, I understand and it's all ok, b/c in me you have peace!!! And secondly He says that if we seek God's wisdom and are thankful, He will protect us from anything this world can dish out! So my response is to love and pray love and pray!! For He is so so so so worthy of our praise!
God Bless, and give rest,
Carlyn Marie Sorey!
Well, I just had to comment on the scripture passage in the devotional for today. As I read the passage about Jesus feeding the multitude, I began to think of all the times I have doubted God - just as the disciples doubted Jesus and the ability to feed so many! I doubt whether or not things will "end" with a happy ending and worry that things will turn out the way I see as best. But God asks us to just be available to serve Him, have faith, and His "perfect ending" will come to fruition! But God also asks us to reflect on our faith in Him. I love verses 5 and 6 where Jesus asks the disciples "Where will be buy bread to feed all these people?" Do you really think He didn't know? Ha! He was testing the disciples and making them reflect on their faith in Him! He does the same with us! He asks us to reflect on His promises and our faith in those promises! I love that! May I have such faith that I could move mountains!
One of my favorite verses about trusting in God is found in II Corinthians 4:17 "For our present troubles are quite small and won't last very long. Yet, they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever." God has promised a "perfect ending" in glory with Him - no matter what we have to endure here on this earth! Also, Proverbs 19:21 "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails!" We may have in mind what we feel is best for us, but we have to trust in God and realize that He already has the perfect purpose for our lives!
I just read Carly's post too - are you saying, "Like mother, like daughter!" Ha!
:Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus"
1 Thess. 5:18
this verse totally applies to every aspect of life, and i quote it when times are bad and when times are good. The Lord has a plan for my life and knowing that, whatever "circumstance" i'm in i know is for my good

Hey Daddy your girl here,
My favorite "trust" verse is Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledg him, and he will make your paths straight."
I like this verse because it is so straight forward it does not beat around the bush it says Trust in the LORD with ALL your heart not just part of it or what you have left but in all of it and I like that about this verse.
