Mission Scotland 09 Blog

412 Praise, a student choir from First Baptist Church Bentonville, Arkansas, has been asked to reach out to the students in Glasgow, Scotland. The young people in Scotland are eager to meet students from the US which gives our students daily opportunities to share their faith in Christ to young people who want to hear what they have to say. This blog will lead up to and follow our trip to Glasgow March 19-28, 2009

Here am I, send me!

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying,
'Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?'

Then I said, "Here am I, Send me!"

Is that your prayer today?...every day?...
Today's devotional was very timely because the band will begin working this afternoon with just the Scotland students.  This is the beginning of preparing ourselves to be flexible on our trip.  Are you flexible?...This much?

I think that I wouldn't be able to get up if I went to this position!

Our trip has been in the planning stages for over 1 1/2 years and has taken many people to work on the details from: where to stay, eat, what schools to have concerts, song list, transportation, sound & media needs, fund-raising, binders and devotionals to name a few!

Yet, even though all the details, that we can think of, have been made, we must always stay flexible and allow God to use us whenever and however He desires.  Sometimes when a person plans so much of his or her life, he or she ends up unwilling to budge if something has to be changed.  There have been many "detailed" people helping to plan this trip.  Please know that all of these folks know that we must daily give the "planned" agenda over to God and be sure that this is still His agenda.

May our prayer be: "Take my life and let it be, consecrated, Lord to Thee!"

Yesterday, we had two folks who answered the Sonic question...Ms. Stephanie and another musician randomly pulled the winner for today and it is:

Congratulations Hannah Montgomery!

Keep up on your daily devotionals ... bring your binders every Sunday.

Sonic Question for today is:
write out Isaiah 6:8 on the comment page and tell me what you think it means.

Keep praying daily for our mission trip.  It's not long now!....

On my knees,
Ken

-the Lord makes us all disciples when we are saved. He expects of us to go out and make disciples of the nations and teach them to obey the law

This is a great blog, Brother Ken. The service went really well today (I came home this weekend). I especially liked the piccolo part :) The flute player did a great job. I almost joined, but I thought I should take a break from the flute for a few days :)

Praying for mission scotland and all who are going!

    Hey daddy your girl here,
    Isiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said "Here am I. Send me!"

To me this verse means that we don't need to ask questions, just go. He did not ask any questions he just said "Here am I. Send me!". You know sometimes I wonder if I would just say that, I think I would have asked a few questions like where am I going, What will I do questions like that.

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" May I be willing to simply say - "Here I am Lord!" No strings attached! Not, "I'll go, as long as you make sure that I'll be safe, or comfortable, or that there will be good weather, or that I will have plenty of good food to eat - NO! Simply - "Here I am. Send me!" Wow - that is quite a commitment! I pray that I can have that kind of faith for this trip! Accepting the different kinds food, the long hours of travel, the early morning schedule, the quality of the mattress and pillow! May the Lord humble our hearts and make us that willing to serve Him - Lord, here I am. Send me!
