Today's devotional said a powerful statement: "the proof of one's love for God is sacrificial service--feeding our Lord's sheep." The Lord's saying to all of us: Do you really love me -- if so, then let my passion be your passion -- take care of My sheep...lay down your life for the sheep." Love manifests itself in service -- humble, sacrificial, service.
How amazing and timely it was to have The Children of the World at our church today. Their mission is to feed, cloth and take care of 1 million children. Today's devotional scripture about taking care of Jesus' sheep was so timely.
Lord, help me to keep my eyes not on myself, but on You.
Help my focus be on You, my love for You, and my service to the ones you love.

TODAY'S SONIC QUESTION OF THE DAY:
What is one way that you are currently showing
God's love to His sheep?
How do you think that you can show His love to
those we meet in Scotland?
Letting God's passion be my passion,
Ken
One way to show love to God's sheep, is by being Christ-like. We show love by caring about a person, asking how their day is, maybe giving them a small surprise (I loved how the children's choir gave us care packages today; it was such a cute and thoughtful way to show that they care about and love us!), and being there for them when they need help. Lately, I've been showing love in secret ways; I love surprising people with things that make their day, without telling them that I did it. Simply serving the people around us without a hidden agenda is a great way to show God's love. You never know what problems a person is going through, any small kindness could make their day! Showing the people in Scotland God's love should be no different. We just have to take the time to show them kindness, and be gracious servants in the Lord's name.
WOW i love Hannah's response!
I try to show the love to the sheep by having a "Christ-like attitude" it is one of the hardest and easiest things...hardest because we are human and are sinful by nature, but it should be easy for us if we simply take up our crosses and follow Him daily and confess that we cant do this alone... Just like in Bentonville, I hope in Scotland I can have a "Christ-like attitude" and have my love for the Lord just seeping through me for them to see and ask "What is different about those American children then me?"

I feel that a huge way of proclaiming God's love for us is to simply share the love God gives us. And for them to truly have God's heart we must share with them what God's love has done for us, so they might then have the oppritunity to hear God and accept His love as thier very own!!!! How exciting, what joy we have in our Holy Master!
I posted the "last rehearsal" pics on my facebook if ya'll want to check them out - they're not too great, but I got some of the kids giving their goodie bags to you and of them singing for us! Wasn't that too cute! You don't realize the impact you make on so many generations of people! Those little ones are looking to ya'll for a positive example - I bet you can name youth that you looked up to when you were that age! Keep up the good work! Get plenty of rest this week - ya'll seemed tired yesterday - me included! But I am sooo excited! I have a prayer request as we get ready to leave - Mason has been running a high fever for days now and I am just so apprehensive about leaving him while we all go so far away. I just ask for prayer for healing for Mason, that the rest of the family will stay well and that my nerves will be calm in leaving him and that I will have a peace about it. Thank you.
Jenny... I will be praying for Mason and for you!
I wanted to share with you all what Tommy Fulfer wrote in our weekly SS newsletter about being on mission with God:
When we go on mission for God the opposition to complete the mission is all around us. But the one thing we need to remember is no matter what comes up against us is that as long as God is in charge and the overseer of the mission, the mission will be completed. And as long as we are doing it for God’s praise and glory there is no mission too dangerous or big to handle. But always remember you need the passion for the mission, heart felt prayer with God, plan the mission with God and then take action with God. If we ever leave God out of the equation then the mission will fail. Only with the power of God will the mission succeed. And remember after the mission it’s all about Jesus, and never about ourselves. To God be the glory forever. Amen.
