Blue Orange Green Pink Purple

Mission Scotland 09 Blog

412 Praise, a student choir from First Baptist Church Bentonville, Arkansas, has been asked to reach out to the students in Glasgow, Scotland. The young people in Scotland are eager to meet students from the US which gives our students daily opportunities to share their faith in Christ to young people who want to hear what they have to say. This blog will lead up to and follow our trip to Glasgow March 19-28, 2009

When You Cannot Finish The Task

Hi everyone...
This is Dave filling in for Ken, as he's down in Little Rock today.  How has your daily devotional been going? I know there's a ton going on, but it really is a blessing to my life to go through this book and the scriptures everyday. Today we were reading in Acts at Jesus'
ascension to Heaven.  Before he ascended, Jesus said that the apostles would receive power from the Holy Spirit, and would be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the end of the earth.  These are commands that are for us as every Christian and every Church.  We are to be witnesses wherever we go, whether it's Bentonville or Glasgow.  We are to be obedient to the call, which is all that He requires.  We cannot save anyone, and none of this is because of our own power, but we are to be fully submitted to His will, and He will take care of the rest!  This is His promise throughout all of scripture, and we see it fulfilled time and time again.

YESTERDAY'S SONIC CARD WINNER IS:

MARY MANGRUM

Congratulations!  Glad to have you on the blogsite.

I've really been listening alot to Keith Green, who died in 1981, but who's words are incredibly powerful even to listen to today...maybe even more so.  Listen to this song called "He'll Take Care of The Rest"

WORDS TO LIVE BY...

Today's Sonic Question is:
What Chapter in Acts did Jesus fulfill his promise to His Apostles by sending the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost?

Leave a comment below and see if you win a Sonic Gift Card!

Thanks for stopping by today, and we'll see you all tomorrow for a very busy day!  Pray that He blesses our time together!
Dave

    Hey dad,
Chapter 2 of Acts is where Jesus fulfilled his promise.

Thanks Dave for filling in for me today. Anne and I spent last night and today at the Children's Hospital in Little Rock visiting Royce and Tammy Anderson and their youngest son, Jaxon.
Please keep Jaxon in your prayers -- may the doctors have the knowledge and wisdom to help him get better soon and come home to the rest of his family.

    God Bless little Jaxon!!!!
I love Keith Green so so so much! He's an angel, and right now he's praising and worshiping with his beloved friend Christ Jesus in heaven!!

To answer today's sonic question, Acts chapter two, specifically starting in verse 14!

God blessed me with a new life verse today that I want to share,
''I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.'' Romans 15:13 NLT

I loooove Keith Green! What a devoted disciple of Christ! Thanks for sharing Dave! The words of this song are so perfect - WE are not supposed to save anyone - leave it to the Lord! We are to plant the seed - go out into the world and share His love - He'll take care of the rest - we just have to trust Him!
